There is a lot of Nuance to these categories and a lot of disagreements. Many will class memecoins as shitcoins, and some maximalists who only have eyes for one specific crypto will class all others, regardless of their standing, as shitcoins. Indeed, many Bitcoin Maximalists claim Ethereum is basically the largest Shitcoin and nothing more. Just as many people might disagree with the idea of tokens being “beneath” Altcoins because they are not quite the same thing. And that’s fine. Everyone has their opinion. But this infographic is there to give you a basic understanding of crypto and where you should divert your research efforts if you want to know more.
